Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they pick a fun topic for a top ten list. This weeks list is Top Ten Books That Will Make You Cry.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I finished this book at work and sobbed at my desk. I think this movie will require a box of tissues to get through.
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
I really love Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. It is so powerful and heartbreaking. Getting to know Hannah, knowing that she kills herself, and learning all the ways in which she hurt is difficult.
If I Stay (If I Stay #1) by Gayle Forman
The love story, the family story, and the decision on whether to stay or go. Every page of this book is sob inducing.
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
Wonder is an amazing book that has so much heart. The book is often funny and touching, but the ending is really powerful.
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
Code Name Verity is about the strength and making impossible decisions. It is truly a brilliant book full of such nuance.
Me And Earl And The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
I picked up Me And Earl And The Dying Girl on a whim at the library and I am so glad that I did. It is hilarious and slightly vulgar (in a funny way), then packs an emotional punch towards the end.
Star Cursed (Born Wicked #1) by Jessica Spotswood
The ending is like a punch in the gut. Book three cannot come soon enough.
Every Day (Ever Day #1) by David Levithan
I don’t know if you can tell by this list, but I am a sucker for a tragic love story. What is more tragic than not being able to stay in one body and knowing you can never be with the girl you love?
The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth Laban
This story is unveiled slowly and it certainly lives up to its tragic name.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Fangirl is all about the relationships and how we each handle difficult situations. This one is pretty universally loved, so I know most people felt as emotional about it as I did.
