I am on a book buying embargo. Like many people, my credit card gets quite the workout during the month of December and I just cannot but myself anything. Luckily, the brand new library in town is awesome and I have been frequenting it.
ARC
I saw a tweet that mentioned that HarperCollins was sending out ARC’s of Everbound and gave an email address to request one. Thank you April (@booksandwine) for the original tweet.
Did you know that you can request an ARC for Everbound by emailing your name and address to everbound@harpercollins.com? #FYI #bookbloggers
— April C (@booksandwine) December 4, 2012
This is the first ARC I have requested because I do not think this blog is big enough to receive anything but it can’t hurt to try. The package was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. So thank you HarperCollins, you really made my night!
Everbound (Everneath #2) by Brodi Ashton
Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. She’s living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away.
Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.
Nikki and Cole descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay’s dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.
Legend (Legend #1) by Marie Lu
What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.
From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.
Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

Legend has been on my TBR list forever. I was lucky to find it in the library.
I loved Thirteen Reasons Why, the story and characters are so good. I’ve been wanting to read Legend for a long time and every time I pass it in the library I keep thinking I’m going to get around to it but I never do. Nice haul though.
Happy reading

I have heard nothing but great things about Thirteen Reasons Why. Even the librarian commented about how much she enjoyed it, I find that is always a good sign.
I have a certain librarian I trust and one that has a completely different taste in books so when I check books out I always read them in order of their reactions.
Legend was awesome. Heard Great things about Thirteen Reasons Why. A little envious that you got Everneath. Great haul of books.
